PROCESS
Nautical works
01
Design and planning
First, the client and professional or engineer collaborate to define the work-to-do requirements and objectives. Aspects such as the project’s purpose, technical specifications, dimensions, required resistance and any particular detail or specific need related to navigation are studied.
02
Steel and additional materials selection
The type of steel suitable for the marine environment is selected, such as 316 marine-grade stainless steel or corrosion-resistant steel. Other supplementary materials may also be considered.
03
Manufacturing and construction
Involves the cutting, special welding, shaping and assembly of steel parts according to the agreed design and specifications using special welding techniques.
04
Finishing and protection
After manufacturing, the steel is finished and treated to protect against corrosion and wear. This can include polishing and sanding—mirror polishing and invisible welding are the most commonly used in this field.
05
Setup and assembly
Once the shipbuilding steelwork is complete, it is set up on the related vessel or marine structure. The required fine-tunings are made, and the work is secured safely and ruggedly, reflecting the navigation conditions and the enforceable maritime regulations.
These shipbuilding works may include items such as railings, handrails, holders, staircases, platforms, deck structures and many other parts and components required on boats and marine structures.
Precision, resistance and quality manufacturing are essential to ensure safety and performance in the maritime environment.
